Join BLINK Dance Theatre as Production Manager for BEAT-FLYS

BLINK Dance Theatre are seeking a Production Manager to support our next sensory, immersive show, BEAT-FLYS. This show is aimed at young people and adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) aged 16+. 

Dates: Monday 29th - Friday 3rd May (5 days) at The Albany, Deptford and Wednesday 22nd - Friday 24th May (3 days) at National Youth Theatre

Fee: £175.00 a day

Total: £1,400.00


Job Description

Rehearsals at The Albany, Deptford

  • Support the cast and production team within the rehearsal room, encouraging a supportive and inclusive environment

  • Support the Stage Manager with technical elements within the rehearsal room

  • Liaise with other members of the production team to solve problems as they arise and keep them informed of any developments

  • Support transport of props, set and costume between storage and rehearsal venues

During the Performance Days at National Youth Theatre

  • Operating technical cues during the run of the performance in collaboration with Stage Manager

  • Support unloading the van, putting up and striking the set with theatre staff and rest of team, and ensuring the van is loaded safely after each performance

  • Liaise with theatre technicians and helping with any relighting at each venue

  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed throughout performances, and liaising with venue teams to ensure any problems are rectified

  • Arranging transport of the set between venues, and the storage of props, set and equipment between tour dates

  • Maintaining and repairing props and set pieces during the tour

Person Specification

Essential

  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation

  • Clean driving licence and willing to drive a van

Desirable

  • Programming and operation of QLab

  • Experience of working with disabled artists and audiences
